Zetao Chan

I explore how people perceive emotion and the world through design.
My practice moves between visual and interactive forms, spanning print, installation, motion, and digital systems.

I tend to create quiet tension within restrained forms, placing logic alongside emotion to observe how design responds to human behavior. My recent work focuses on sensory feedback and conceptual interfaces as a way to express care and awareness.

Anchor Gin
Packaging Design

Anchor Gin reimagines the symbol of an anchor through the lens of one of gin’s core botanicals — juniper. Rather than using a traditional anchor shape, I created a custom motif based on juniper berries and branches, integrating it into the design to evoke both nature and heritage. A rich dark blue palette reflects the botanical essence of the spirit while evoking the warmth of summer. Honoring Hezekiah Pierrepont and Brooklyn’s storied past, the packaging blends vintage elegance with a refined, high-end aesthetic.

 Anchor Gin
Packaging Design

Although already named “Anchor,” the gin’s design intentionally avoids the traditional anchor shape. Instead, I drew inspiration from the East River, where the gin was first produced, incorporating its silhouette as a cut-out element. This subtle detail not only pays tribute to the gin’s origins but also creates the impression of a flowing river as the liquid level drops, reinforcing the connection between place and product.
